Abstract

The XX Century Milan estate of buildings records the renovation of the culture and the predominance of the Rationalism between the World Wars and the Second postwar. Nevertheless, it is still unknown and poorly documented and it has often suffered radical transformations. Giovanna D’Amia and Luca Tamini formulated an hypothesis of an observatory of the Modern Milan as an interdisciplinary research to deeply know and valorise this estate of buildings, to survey their conditions and to propose guidelines for future interventions. An archive of data and graphic documents of 45 selected buildings has been created by Giovanna D’Amia Course of Contemporary History of Architecture (year 2008/2009) in order to verify the fairness of this approach. Nowadays it is possible to drew up a first balance of the research.
