Photography changed forever the way that we see and understand the world, from remote landscapes to outstanding architectural features from different cultures. However, the inclusion of the photographic imagine in the graphic development of the project, both at the stage of architectural documentation and in the conceptual phase, had to wait until the last quarter century. Furthermore, the arrival of digital imaging brought a big change in the production and management of photographic information. Today, after a long period of development we can see how the use of the photographic imagine reappears strongly, claiming a place in first line of surveys more precise and realistic. We can not understand any graphic documentation process without this important resource, either at the preliminary stage or in the process of implementing the project. In most cases (drawing and project life cycle) the photographic image always shows the most accurate synthesis, the most understandable “drawing” even for non-technicals. In this issue of DISEGNARECON ,we want to promote the consideration of the potential and magnitude of “architectural drawing” made with digital photography, so we called all interested parties to provide their contributions on the use and processing of photographic images, in areas ranging from architecture and historical-archaeological documentation to the process of project communication. Below you can read an analysis of the state of the art and some considerations on its future.
