The paper presented refers to the experience carried out in relation to the preparation of the Recovery Program of the old town of Camerino damaged by the earthquake of September 1997. In particular, one of the main aims of the Recovery Program was the planning of the reconstruction process not only through emergency interventions, but also by the actions of a new practice prevention and conservation. Despite the years that have passed, it seems useful to relate this experience because of the innovations that were introduced by Law no. 61 March 1998, which set up the instrument, why seem not only consistent with the themes of the seminar, but also still being dramatically actual.
