This paper presents the metaplanning approach as a methodology to design and represent the spatial planning process aiming at improving the spatial planning process effectiveness and transparency. It is argued metaplanning may represent the missing link between Planning Support Systems design and Geodesign, and it may support the design of Planning Support System and its agile implementation along with the design of the planning process. A brief example is given aiming at showing the practical implementation of this approach.
