Abstract

North Carolina State University has developed a fully electronic submission, review and digital storage repository for theses and dissertations, also known as the ETD (electronic thesis and dissertation) system. The ETD system improves access and substantially reduces time required compared to paper-based submission methods for the community of groups involved in the thesis/ dissertation approval process: students, thesis/dissertation advisory committee members, graduate schools, thesis/dissertation editors, archivers (for example, university libraries) and researchers.
